There's nothing like a cool summer breeze on my face as I take a ride on a swing, which is one of my favorite things. There's nothing like a snappy tune being played on repeat in my ear. I love the sound of my favorite songs being played over and over again.
My name is JiVante', I'm a 19 year old young man with a sense of adventure, lover of music, a compassion for animals, an appreciation for dance, and a great connoisseur of food.
With my unmoved passion for life and all that it could offer, I hate to say I have an uncertain future. Even though I may sound like every other 19 year old, there is something that sets me apart from most. I have been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, ADHD & I am on the autism spectrum. Now me being in this category has nothing to do with my mom or dad, God had a plan for my life & theirs.
As I walk through this journey called life, I actually need assistance to walk and my speech is limited. Don't count me out yet, I have a desire and just need a little help. I have a strong desire to return back home. I live in a facility that hasn't been equipped properly over the years and the staff hasn't been that great either. On the upside there have been & still are some staff that take good care of me. I miss my mom and 1 of my oldest sisters who was in the home when I left. I ask that you please help my family raise money to bring me home with all of my needs being met such as therapies, resources, & equipment.
Mom would have taken him out of the facility years ago but with JiVante's strength, behaviors and financial needs she hasn't been in a position to do so. She is not able to handle JiVante' without the risk of himself or her being severely hurt. JiVante' requires around the clock 24 hour care. Mom, Glynece (Ms. Moone) Turner is in hopes with your help on bringing JiVante' home for good. If you can refer her to any resources, please do so.
More about JiVante' & The Story!
JiVante' is a 19 yr. old young male who lives at Rosemary, a residential facility in Cleveland, Oh. Rosemary had a big 64 page report that made the news about how they were not fit to house the residents, how some of the staff hadn't been doing a quality job & also reports of abuse. But please keep in mind there are some staff that are equipped with patience, compassion & understanding that JiVante' likes. Mom would have taken him out of the facility years ago but with JiVante's strength, behaviors and financial needs she hasn't been in a position to do so. She is not able to handle JiVante' without the risk of himself or her being severely hurt. JiVante' requires around the clock 24 hour care. JiVante' has a hard time walking due to his Cerebral Palsy, so he walks either with a walker or someone by his side. He wears AFO's as well which is equipment that wraps around the lower part of his leg & feet which helps straighten his legs & helps his feet sit flat to the ground. AFO's can also be referred to as leg and foot braces. He wears them everyday during school & a few hours on the weekend. From time to time depending on the distance, JiVante' will use a wheelchair. Although he is vocal, his verbal is extremely limited. He can say maybe 2-3 words. So he uses some American Sign Language & makes up his own signs that seems to make sense. He also likes the use of pictures to communicate as well. Attached you will find JiVante's Behavior Plan & IEP (Individual Education Plan) which describes what he is capable of doing, his progress in school & his goals. Thank you from the heart for at least taking the time to read this plea Anything beyond reading this is a BLESSING & so greatly appreciated.
